Meet Our Neurodivergent-Affirming Therapists in Ontario

Michael Holker, MSW, RSW, founder of Becoming Yourself Counselling, Ontario

Michael Holker, MSW, RSW

Founder. Late-identified neurodivergent therapist. ADHD, autism, AuDHD & gifted (2e) adults.

"Finally having language for my experience changed my life. Helping you find yours is why I do this work."

A therapist who discovered his own neurodivergence later in life, Michael founded Becoming Yourself to be the practice he couldn't find as a client. He supports ADHD, autistic, AuDHD, and gifted (2e) adults — late-diagnosed, high-masking, burned out, or still exploring — with 15+ years of experience in the social services field and the kind of understanding that isn't learned from textbooks.

Most of Michael's caseload is adults who found out late — including those seeking AuDHD therapy and gifted and twice-exceptional adults who spent years being told they were coping fine.

Euodia Leung, MSW, RSW

Associate Therapist. Anxiety, depression, self-esteem, students & life transitions — including adults exploring neurodivergence.

"Growth doesn't begin by becoming someone else. It begins by understanding who you've been all along."

Euodia works with adults navigating anxiety, depression,  self-esteem, identity, and life transitions — including those exploring neurodivergence. Her compassion-focused, transdiagnostic approach starts with a question few therapists ask: what has helped you get through until now? Rather than treating your coping as flaws, she helps you understand where they came from — and what might serve you better.

Not sure who to start with?

Michael works primarily with ADHD, autistic, AuDHD, and gifted (2e) adults — especially around late diagnosis, masking, and burnout — and brings lived experience of neurodivergence.

Euodia works with anxiety, depression,  self-esteem, identity, and life transitions, including adults exploring neurodivergence.

Somewhere in between, or not sure? That's exactly what the free meet-and-greet is for — you can't get this wrong, and you can switch anytime.

If you're exploring ADHD, autism, or both, that's the centre of our work — start with ADHD therapy for adults or autism therapy for adults to see how we approach each.

If you're carrying anxiety, self-criticism, or the exhaustion of holding yourself to an impossible standard, wondering if you might be neurodivergent (ADHD, autistic, or both) — whether or not you've ever used the word neurodivergent about yourself — Euodia's curious approach could help.

Not sure what you need yet?

That's okay too. See the full range of what we help with — ADHD, autism, AuDHD, giftedness, anxiety, and the tangled places in between — and how our neurodiversity-affirming approach works.

Values We Shared Before We Shared a Practice

We met as colleagues years before Becoming Yourself existed. Even then, what stood out wasn't how we worked — it was why. People open up when they feel genuinely understood. The care that helps neurodivergent clients feel safe is the care everyone deserves. Neither of us would compromise on that. So we kept in touch, followed each other's careers, and when the chance to practice together arrived, the foundation was already years old. These are the values that brought us together — and the ones we'll bring to every session.

What we share is a way of working rather than a shared script, and you can read more about our approach to neurodiversity-affirming therapy and the modalities behind it.

Choosing Your Therapist — Common Questions

What makes a therapist neurodivergent-affirming?

A neurodivergent-affirming therapist treats ADHD, autism, AuDHD, and giftedness as natural differences to work with — not problems to fix. Rather than helping you mask or appear more neurotypical, the focus is on understanding how your brain works and building support that fits it. Both of us practise this way: stimming is welcome, sessions are paced to your nervous system, and nothing about you is treated as broken. For the full picture, what neuro-affirming therapy involves goes deeper.

How do I know which therapist is right for me?

Start with focus. Michael works primarily with ADHD, autistic, AuDHD, and gifted (2e) adults — especially around late diagnosis, masking, and burnout — and brings lived experience of neurodivergence. Euodia works with anxiety, self-esteem, identity, and life transitions, including adults exploring neurodivergence. If you're between them, that's what the free meet-and-greet is for — and there's no wrong door: we share the same affirming approach.

What if I pick someone and it doesn't feel like a fit — can I switch?

Yes, and it's genuinely fine. Fit matters more than loyalty, and no one here will be hurt by an honest "I'd like to try working with someone else." We'll handle the handover smoothly — you won't have to start your story from zero.

Do you work together as a team?

We share values and a philosophy — neurodiversity-affirming, compassionate, no one gets treated as broken — but your therapy belongs to you and your therapist. Your information stays with them, and nothing is shared between us without your consent.

Do both therapists work with neurodivergent clients?

Yes — the affirming approach runs through the whole practice, not one person. Michael specializes in neurodivergent adults and identifies as neurodivergent himself; Euodia supports neurodivergent, questioning, and neurotypical adults alike through the same lens. Whomever you work with, stimming is welcome, cameras are optional, and pacing follows your nervous system.

Are you adding more therapists?

We're growing thoughtfully — the practice expands only when we find clinicians who genuinely share our approach. If you're waiting for a specific specialty or availability, mention it at your meet-and-greet, and we'll let you know when something changes.

Ready when you are
